• Spinal cord injury that affects at least three limbs
• Amputation in four extremities
• Neurological impairment in four limbs
• Physical impairments in four limbs to include hands and/or feet
• Combination of any of the above

The grant funding for this program is awarded by U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, through funding provided by Veterans Affairs. The grants are provided to facilitate the growth of Paralympic sport programming for disabled Veterans and disabled members of the Armed Forces. Airfare, accomodations, and ground transportation provided for injured servicemember only.

Twelve athletes have been nominated to the 2010 U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby Team. The team was announced following a three-day tryout camp held at Lakeshore Foundation, an official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site. With their sights set on the 2010 World Championships in Vancouver, this team will first represent the United States at the Demolition Derby which will be held at Lakeshore Foundation the weekend of January 22, 2010.
Head coach James Gumbert (Austin, Texas) said that the group of athletes selected for the 2010 team represent one of the best rugby teams in the history of U.S. Rugby. The U.S. is currently the top-ranked wheelchair rugby team in the world.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-The 2008 U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby Team selection camp will be held at the Lakeshore Foundation, an official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site, December 14-16, 2007. Two full days of tryout sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday and on Sunday, up to 12 athletes will be named to the 2008 U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby Team.
