Kind of funny, I catch myself waiting for the reverse angle shot from the camera on the other side of the court so I can see what happened because the action was blocked from the camera on this side of the court. Not to mention the slow mo' replays of those monster hits! Then we can't forget the goal line camera with the clock ticking down in the upper right corner of the screen...some day maybe!

Sunday 6/29/08, USA wins the Canada Cup by routing New Zealand by double digits.

I've been waiting for some information – hoping Jan Mansfield would come through again or that xable would have the championship game up – to give a brief report on the team's Gold Metal performance in Vancouver. But as of now I haven't head anything except that the team won convincingly.

USA and New Zealand To Go For Gold at International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament

Burnaby, BC – The USA will meet New Zealand in the gold medal game Sunday at the 2008 Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament, a repeat of the match-up at the 2006 Canada Cup which went to three overtime periods before the USA prevailed. The USA, who also won the title in the inaugural event in 2004, reached the final with a hard-fought 36-31 win over Great Britain.

Canada, US Win On Opening Day of International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament

Burnaby, BC – Host Team Canada won both of its opening games Friday at the 2008 Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament in Burnaby.

Canada defeated Japan 36-35 in the first game and came back to defeat China 63-28 in their afternoon contest. The United States kept pace with a 66-34 win over China in their opening match and then defeated Japan 47-38 in their second game.

IWRF Rule Changes

This morning at the IWRF Sports Assembly in Vancouver, BC, the delegates voted on several measures, two worth reporting immediately: Adopted the Canadian proposal for a 40-second clock rule and the IWRF Executive Committee proposal to start the 40-second clock with the game clock. Adopted a 12-second rule. The 12 seconds start when the player gains possession of the ball. More rule changes are likely this afternoon - will post more info tonight. The Assembly also voted to begin a two-year process towards independence from IWAS.

North America Cup

I think there is a lot of interest in Team USA. The team suffered its first loss in over 2 years and there's no real details about the tournament. It's been real quiet. The team won 4 and lost 1? Is that right?

Xable will be in Vancouver so we will have solid coverage of the Canada Cup, but where's the info on the North America Cup?
