great, great win. i may be wrong, but i think the US burned its 4th TO at the start of the 2nd quarter. to their credit they played the rest of the game without really needing them. great play. and those animal two's. unbelievable.
i'm especially proud of nickie. his D on that duece lineup is what makes it cook. nick got huge applause when he received his medal, rightfully so. he and the boys made batt's day very tough indeed.
great win! great team! congratulations one and all, gumbie, ed, staff, and those fantastic Team USA fans.
How amazing this has been for us to watch! From the time we met Bryan this summer, to watching games at the North American Cup, to the reality of winning the gold - WOW! You guys all accomplished what you set out to do, and you are amazing athletes! It was all fantastic, but hearing our team sing the national anthem at the end was the sweetest - yes, we could hear you over the music and everything - SO COOL!
Completely agree. Partway through the anthem we could hear the singing. It was beautiful! And I must confess to having a bit of a sniffly moment myself!
What a great game. I am so happy it was shown online along with every one getting the medals. I have to say I had some tears in my eyes I was so happy. I was screaming at my computer USA so was my mom. I can't think of a better day. We got our GOLD back.
My roomate and I got up bright and early this morning before classes to watch the game - AMAZING GAME GUYS! It was the first game that my computer streamed properly for, and it was great! Way to go
As a newbie when it comes to watching quad rugby, I really didn't know what to expect when I showed up at the arena for the game versus China and then, the main event, the gold medal game versus the Aussies and that incredible forward of theirs.
What I saw was an all-out team effort that effectively cancelled out an extremely well-prepared and incredibly skilled opponent. Although AUS had their runs, as all good teams will, it seemed to me that it was the defense that really stole the show. Nick, you were dominant. Just an absolute pleasure to watch good players playing like that and being rewarded with the greatest success the game has to offer.
Thank you, guys, for that effort. You have a new die-hard fan, and I am positive that there are hundreds if not thousands more like me. Best of luck to all of you in your respective careers going forward--they're bright ones, for sure.
