Okay so i looked at the performance camp in Oregon...$600!!??? Really!? Wow, so for those newbies, in case u didn't know, quad rugby is a rich man's sport. If your not rich or have no means for such a rediculous expese, consider your future in quad rugby limmited. So $600 x 20 rich guys= $12,000 for one weekend. Does someone want to explain the necessary economics of this? i mean besides greed.

QR = Questionable Reading (Comprehension)
The calendar event, their website, and the PDF brochure clearly indicate that this is a 5 day camp, not 2. And the way I read it this doesn't appear to be geared toward noobs, though I expect they'd accept anyone looking to improve their training and level of play.
The other flaw in your logic is the 20 person cap. Beginner and intermediate clinics usually take any and all applicants, and cost well under $100. If this were about greed wouldn't they allow anyone with $600 to come?
I do have to give you props for the accounting skills. I hear BP is hiring...

...... $600 is ridiculous,
...... $600 is ridiculous, what does that include coach???? Now I know the league needs money, but how much money will actually go towards the running of the camp???? what kind of camp is it???? Is it a beginners camp??? For $600 I would hope not!!!! Is it an advanced camp???? N E one that good probably already gets Gumby's coaching..... what do we get for $600.00 besides sore arms?????? And yes, ELITE rugby is a rich man's sport unless you are SUPER talented!!!!!

lots of questions
lots of questions....no answers. I know those people see this who might have an official comment. do u have nothing to say? do the dollar figures speak for themselves? are we suppose to make-up whatever we want as to the reasons for such an expensive instructional camp? do u even care? is it so obvious that the next generation of rugby will have to be willing to spend such money + airfare + hotel to compete? Does shelling out $600+ airfare + hotel in this economy scream "i love quad rugby so much I will pay anything to give myself a percieved edge?" Is that who your targeting with this camp? Did the phrase "there's a sucker injured every day" ever come up during the planning?

Did you ever think about
Did you ever think about picking up the phone and calling the camp organizer to ask what will be taught during the camp? I don't know much about this, but I do know it is not going to be a typical USQRA type rugby clinic. If you want to know why its expensive call them and ask at 503.646.8482! The camp brochure can be found here.

Adapt Camp
I’m not sure what answers you guys are looking for but I will try to clarify things for you. The camp next week is being put on by a private entity, Adapt Training, and is an opportunity to showcase their strength and conditioning system. If you’ve read the flyer you know several rugby athletes have been very pleased with their improvement using this system. The mornings during the camp will be devoted to their training sessions. The afternoon sessions will be centered around rugby skills.
The USQRA is not putting any funds towards this camp. There will be several other clinics this summer and fall that deal strictly with rugby skills and tactics. These clinics may have a fee to attend but they usually range from $25-$50. If your team would like to host a clinic, that option is available too although it is late in the game and those who have already applied have first priority.
If you have any further questions, feel free to call or email me.

Since when did playing any
Since when did playing any sport become cheap? Especially to excel to the next level of playing? You complain about the cost of a $600 camp, but say nothing of the rediculous amounts being paid for w/c's & parts? $600 doesn't buy a set of rims...lol. Also, like the man said it's a privately ran camp, they can charge whatever they want to. If you dont have $600, don't go. To become better than average at most sporting activities it takes a lot of perseverence, dedication & sacrifice, sometimes even in the pocket. Get used to it sir, as always money talks, unfortunate but true. Finally, I do not think $600 qualifies somebody as a "rich man".
You get upset when nobody answers you, when your posts are filled with exclaimation points and rantings? Sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it. ;)
I hope things work out for you!!!
