There is an increase in viral Facebook messages which have been sent from several member's accounts. Your computer might be being used to send messages of which you are unaware.

May I suggest that if you are not positive your Facebook account is clean, that you run a full viral, worm scan of your computer.

Also. Please advise this web site administration at webmaster@quadrugby.com of any in appropriate postings on rugby talk or from the USQRA Facebook or twitter accounts.

Thank you,

Facebook viruses

Spam generated by facebook can be easily avoided.  In most cases where a user account is "hijacked", the user actually gave away their login information.

It goes like this:  A user who is already logged inclicks on something and is asked to login again.  This is a fake Facebook page made to look just like a real facebook page.  It is intended to capture your login info.  Once you enter this information, a program executes and sends messages or posts to people in your friends.  Some friend ;)

The way to deal with this is to ALWAYS look at the URL before you login to ANY website.  The correct domain may have a prefix other than "www" but will always end with the site's actual domain.

login.facebook.com/whatever is a legitimate facebook address

www.facebook.something.com is not

If you are the least bit suspicious, don't click it.  Or ask the person who posted the item if hey intended to send it before you try to open it.  Chances are whatever you were hoping to see isn't worth the time or the risk.

FaceBook virus

Does anyone have a fix for the "hi-jacked" account virus mentioned above. I can't get into my FaceBook account because when I log in...I get routed to this "ghost FaceBook account". Help?
