Both Regionals and Sectionals are posted. only 5 of the 8 teams in teh Heartland North are participating in Regionals (Minnesota & the other Milwaukee are out while Chicago jumped regions).
It's done... We are set to have a 9-team Sectional in the Heartland! Thank you Brett, Nick, Coup, Gumbie and whoever else had input in this decision...
As for the teams that dropped out.. Hope to see you guys return full force next season!!

No, I'm actually not sure... I think the lower 3 seeded teams play kind of a round robin to establish which two will cross-over..

I head a rumor that the pools might be divided by region to address lack of a regional playoff (when technically one should have been played). Any truth to this?
The seedings for post season are currently being worked on by the RAC's and the schedule for post season regional and sectional events will be distributed to tournament host by weeks end.
I know getting things scheduled and organized for a tournament is tough, let alone a post-season tourney, but having it over a holiday is a bad idea. It was my understanding the Sectional was to be Thursday through Saturday of Easter weekend, but now that the schedule is out it is Friday through Sunday.
It is true not everyone is "church-goers", but many still have family gatherings for dinner, egg-hunts etc. This just doesn't impact players, but support-staff, officials, and volunteers. Personally, I feel this is something that should have been avoided when setting up this post-season tourney.
I am sorry if this inconveniences anyone . The USQRA approved the dates. The referees said it would be much harder to get refs Thursday than Sunday. We have plenty of volunteers to help support your team.
Michigan knows the imact of these dates as well as anyone. We have players who will not be participating on Sunday, regardless of the impact of the games played on that day.
The good news is that we have churches of all denominations, restaurants and places to hide eggs right here in Michigan! Everyone's family is welcome in Saginaw. As we do every year, my extended family (from all over the country) will meet in a hotel to eat, hide eggs, and go to churches. This year we'll do the whole Easter thing in Saginaw. I can even recommend a great, nearby, family friendly hotel with large common areas, multiple pools, a movie theatre, and a bowling alley on the property.
Life doesn't always go the way we want it to - sometimes you have to make choices. If something is more important to you then please, by all means, do what you need to do.
Congratulations to the teams moving forard to Nationals from the Heartland region!
Lakeshore took first by defeating Denver, who barely made it to the championship game. They battled from behind to defeat TNT by one point. St. Louis earned their first trip to nationals by wiping out a 7 point second-half deficit to defeat Michigan in the final seconds of their game. TNT fils the 4th spot.
Thanks to all the teams, sponsors, volunteers, and especially Jeff Coupie for making a great tourney!

Shame we can't just do a 9-team Sectional...
That would save everybody some money.

Yeah Mike,
I think we'll put the top 4 seeds in one pool... This way it gives everyone a chance to advance :)
