Rugby history was made at Best of the West, November 13-15, as the league's longest running tournament turned twenty.  The competition was strong featuring some of the US's top club teams, Canada's top club team and the the majority of England's national team in the field.

Some great one-point games decided in the final seconds highlighted the action.  U of A the tournament eventual runner-up snuck by Quebec 48-47 and  Portland lost a heartbreaker to London 51-50.  The rebirth of the Phoenix Heat, with its roster of players from around the country,  struggled in its first outing finishing fourth.

The host Sharp Edge-the defending USQRA national champions-was the tournament's top seed and played like it throughout, never really getting tested on its way to winning the championship.
