Just a reminder to register for the Utah Bash & Clinic held September 18-20 at the Copperview Rec Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The clinician's have just been selected and will be Will Groulx and Rick Draney.
Will Groulx is currently a member of the 2008-2009 US National team and a recipient of a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics games. Will is also a member of the Portland Pounders team, which took 2nd at the 2009 DII Nationals this year. In addition, Will was recently selected as a nominee for the 2009 ESPN ESPY awards as the "Best Male Athlete with a Disability."
Rick Draney is an accomplished wheelchair athlete and outdoor enthusiast. He has experienced a remarkable career in wheelchair rugby and tennis. He has been teaching wheelchair rugby to youth and adults at camps, clinics and exhibitions throughout the world. Rick has received numerous awards which include; Gold medalist at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics in wheelchair rugby, 1999 USQRA Athlete of the Year Award, 3-time USQRA National Champion, and 3-time USQRA National Championship All-Tournament Team, just to name a few.
With the experience of these two amazing athletes, and the support of the Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation, the Utah Rugby Bash and clinic is shaping up to be one of the best pre-season rugby events this year. Following the clinic, there will be a bash where you will be able to put your instruction to work, competing against all athletes present at the event, with two courts going simultaneously.
