Nationals go to Louisville

The USQRA is proud to announce the awarding of the 2012 and 2013 national championships have gone to Louisville Kentucky. The two-year contract brings the championship back for an unprecedented 7th and 8th year to the bluegrass state.

Tournament director Jill Farmer has promised an even more robust championship than in years past. Given previous reviews it will be hard to top all of the gamesmanship on the and off the court. Combined with the lead up to the London Paralympics and the pageantry of the build up to the Kentucky Derby, these championships promise to be filled with excitement and thrills.

The 2012 National Championships are slated for April 27 – 29 2012 and long time sponsor Frazier Rehab will again serve as host for the event. For more information check back here in the early fall.

Clarification on the over 45 Rule

Several questions have arisen with regards to the over 45 age rule.

At the 2009 AGM, membership voted and approved that member teams can have up to 4 players playing on the court at the same time with the 45 sticker exemption. Essentially allowing teams to put up to 10 points on the court at a given time.   This rule does not include a provision to allow a female athlete over 45 to claim a 1.0 deduction from her class. 45 for over 45, 45 for female.

Further any international players over 45 in age would be eligible to have the exemption as long as they are rostered on a USA member team and send proof of age to the commissioner’s office.
