Time outs: changed to four time outs at 30 seconds each which may be called by any player on the court, plus two time outs of one full minute each which can only be requested by the coach or their assistant on a dead ball.

Time between quarters: The time between 1st and 2nd quarters and 3rd and 4th quarters and 4th and overtime periods increases to 2 minutes.

Substitutions on equipment time outs: Substitutions forbidden on equipment time outs when a chair or the player does not have an equipment malfunction that prevents them from playing.

Inbounding: Article 80 (Throw In Violations) changed to remove restriction on number of bounces - replaced with "the inbounder must be the last point of contact for the ball before it touches the floor or a player on the playing court."

Chair checks: The IWRF will require all chairs to be checked before the commencement of IWRF sanctioned tournaments, with random checks taking place throughout the tournament. Chair protests may still be filed.

Sanction for an equipment technical foul that imposes both a time out and a technical foul on the team asking for verification if the verification is not upheld. 

Female athletes: The point limit of 8.0 is increased by 0.5 for each female player on the court.

Eliminated devices attached to the chair to hold the ball in place resulting in a mechanical advantage.

New score sheet to be used with wider space to record the minute of the goal to put in the actual time of each goal scored.

Flagrant Fouls: Penalty will be a personal foul and two technical fouls to be served consecutively. There will also be a yellow and red card system. Collect two yellow cards during the tournament and the player is automatically suspended from the next game. Two yellow cards in one game = red card and player is disqualified from the game and suspended from the next game. If a disqualifying foul = red card and suspension from the next game.
